I am Vidhya
lakshmi. I am passionate about learning and teaching. Design is a process which
is learnt through a series of trial . More than an assignment, the
process should be looked upon as an idea/ concept or theme converted into a scribbling or a drawing .
The entire journey
of the architectural course, targets on understanding the functional,
technical, aesthetic aspect of every element around us. Compositions you learn,
re-frame your sheets. Principles you learn change the perspective of your
world. The same old colours, you had brought gives magical stories in your
sheets. A mount board, cutter and fevicol can make your heaven, if you love the
process.
When i was taught
about this process, it looked new to me. The roads i had already travelled seemed
to show to more buildings, than ever before. The colours, textures, pattern,
scale, proportion and much more came in to my mind while looking at a normal
building. For me it looked new. A new way of looking into your world that
existed in you for times.
Now, am into the
process of teaching the young kids, to take up the change that i experienced. Times
have changed but the process remains the same. The process starts from a basic
kitchen or bedroom to a majestic airport or campus design in the end semester.
I am planning to share my experiences from my design studios. Any design starts
from
scratch and reaches the end through a process. i admire the experience obtained from process of design equivalent to the result.
